An item about Michelle Wie on Waggle Room gave me an idea. Based on estimated airtime, which LPGA players make the Golf Channel Top 10? Using my powers of recollection (which naturally give more weight to the last two events), they are:
1. Paula Creamer
2. Annika Sorenstam
3. Michelle Wie
4. Lorena Ochoa
5. Morgan Pressel
6. Natalie Gulbis
7. Cristie Kerr
8. Brittany Lincicome
9. Suzann Pettersen
10. Stacy Prammanasudh
Honorable mentions go to Karrie Webb and Juli Inkster – if they were only a little younger and cuter! Per event, Michelle Wie kills everybody on this list but there’s no way I could rank her ahead of Annika and Paula, who apparently have the GC production staff on their payroll.
If she continues her good play for a few more weeks, Erica Blasberg will be on this list with a bullet.

For rating TGC's faves I have two criteria, both relating to when the players are out of the top 10 that week. Are they likely to appear in the "crawl" graphic that runs along the bottom of the screen, and will they appear in the "Notables" section of the leaderboard graphic on Golf Central and Sprint Post-Game?
At the moment (excluding The Big Break participants) there are six core players: Wie, Sorenstam, Creamer, Gulbis, Pressel, Ochoa. Not Webb (last year's Rolex #2 for most of the year). Not Pettersen (who won five times last year). Kerr appeared for a few weeks after winning the US Women's Open, then disappeared again.
By the way, this was the "Notables" list from after the Fields Open:
T15 Morgan Pressel
T23 Erica Blasberg
T72 Michelle Wie
So you're exactly right about Blasberg. A non-exempt player with one career top 10 is now a "Notable."
Makes sense - last two #1 players, 2 best American players + "the chosen one" :)
I've jumped the gun on my 2008 Best of the LPGA rankings--and went with your final '07 rankings rather than your '08 predictions....
Sag, I saw that Notables graphic too! That plus Erica's airtime during the Fields (when she wasn't really in the running) inspired my last statement. Good criteria for me to follow in future updates to this Top 10!
