New Look

Decided to tweak the color scheme a bit today. After nearly two years, it occurred to me that a golf blog should display more green than orange. Let me know what I screwed up.

Looking good! Speaking of newness, I tried my first Best off the LPGA ranking today, starting with the JLPGA. If you put together one of your own before the end of May, I'll be able to model mine entirely after the Best of the LPGA one coming at the end of April. Soon the only question will be how to come up with an international ranking with cross-tour comparisons....

Your first JLPGA ranking attempt is a good one. I still can't get a complete stat picture at their site, but I may be able to cobble together a modified version of my system which uses the info I can decipher. I can't find any numbers on missed cuts or top 10 finishes.

Frankly, I'm going to have to undergo a major change of opinion before I'll try combining all of the tour rankings. Give me a method that overcomes the small dataset problem and I'll consider it.

On topic...

The new scheme looks good, but I liked the old too -- it was very elegant.

I'll have to pass your compliments on the old layout to Blogger.com, Diane - I don't think I had ever changed from the default!

I work with computers every day but if anything, that makes me LESS anxious to change configuration stuff. Bad things happen, man!

On MCs and top 10s, I don't see that either, but if you look at the same names over and over and over again, it gets a little less difficult to scan through the final results on each tournament (via the schedule page) and keep track of it by hand. A big pain, I know. Maybe amaebirah at SS has a better idea?

Oh, and it won't be September until I return to the JLPGA, so no rush on your ranking at all....
