Paula Creamer continues to hold a comfortable lead at the Mitchell Tournament of Champions. Pat Hurst is in second place at -10, but still trails by six strokes. Jin Joo Hong is third at -9 while Suzann Pettersen, Annika Sorenstam and Birdie Kim are tied for fourth at -8.
Creamer posted her second bogey-less round in as many days, and has gone 45 holes without dropping any shots. If she’s not going to bogey any more holes, ain’t nobody going to catch her. Hurst birdied four straight on the back nine to move into second. Birdie Kim had the low round of the day, a 66 highlighted by an eagle at 13. Sorenstam continues to play well in only her third LPGA event since the British Open, and looks to be a lock to make the ADT Championship now.
Lorena Ochoa is tied for ninth at -5, a distant 11 shots back of Creamer. She is a terrific player, but I had to laugh when I read on the notes page at lpga.com that she was “still in the hunt”. The way Creamer is playing, Lorena will need a 59 on Sunday just to get close. Possible, I suppose.

If Paula made no bogeys but triples and doubles instead....it could get interesting.
No the Pink Panther is going to run away with this thing. We prayed for a non-Ochoa rout this week. So what do we get? A Creamer rout.
Be careful what you wish for.
Cheers,

Two days till I start covering the ADT.
Unlike some golf writers I've seen, I would consider a double-bogey or triple-bogey to snap a bogeyless streak. Those scores are bogeys too, just worse ones.
I like close contests better too, but every once in a while I like to see one of the really outstanding players rise up and kick the crap out of everybody for a week. Parity can be an overrated thing.
