Juli Inkster and Shi Hyun Ahn share the lead after two rounds of the CN Canadian Women’s Open. Lorena Ochoa, Laura Diaz and Kimberly Hall are one shot back, tied for third at -7.
As good as the scoring was on Thursday, it was even better Friday. 28 rounds in the 60s were posted, improving on the 16 carded Thursday. Karrie Webb had the best round of all, a course record of 64 to put herself at -6 in sixth place. Ochoa’s 65 was the next best, while Inkster rode her 66 to the top of the board. Ahn aced the 16th hole en route to her 67. Kyeong Bae fell to -4 and a tie for eighth after a round of 72. Kelli Kuehne returned to earth rudely with a 74 and is now T16 at -2.
The cut eventually climbed to +3, allowing Jee Young Lee and Sarah Lee to squeak through. Not so fortunate were Young Kim, Se Ri Pak, Michelle Wie and Ai Miyazato.
Round Three begins at 10:58 EDT this morning with the two leaders going off at 4:10pm. TGC will air its first coverage this week beginning at 6:30pm EDT.
