Sarah Lee (-11) retained her lead at the Michelob Ultra Open with a round of 68, opening up a two shot margin over Becky Morgan. Amy Hung (-7) is in third place with Carin Koch and Jimin Kang tied for fourth at -6.
These are not the usual names we’ve been seeing at the top of a second-round leaderboard. Morgan and Kang shared the Low Round of the Day honors with 65s. The first “usual” names you’ll find on the board are Brittany Lincicome, Stacy Prammanasudh and Natalie Gulbis, all at -5. Julieta Granada, Cristie Kerr and Sherri Steinhauer are among the players at -4. Mi Hyun Kim’s karma turned sour as she carded a 75 (-3). Lorena Ochoa, Jee Young Lee, Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer are also at -3. I wouldn’t be counting any of these folks out of it just yet.
The folks you can count out – who finished above the +1 cut line – include Grace Park (77, dammit), Jeong Jang and Pat Hurst. Six (!) players withdrew from the event prior to the round including Shi Hyun Ahn and Kyeong Bae, who were both even par coming in. I haven’t watched the tv coverage yet (I was playing badly in a charity golf tournament today) so I’ll update if I get any more info on the withdrawals.
