Thanks to another weather delay on Saturday, the second round of the MasterCard Classic resumed this morning at 9:30am EDT (7:30 local time). Many players with afternoon tee times had only played one or two holes of their second round by the time darkness descended on the course. Lpga.com is reporting that the final round tee times will be around 1:45-3:45 (I assume that is local time) so it is very likely that the event will not be completed until Monday. Both lpga.com and The Golf Channel’s site still list today’s broadcast time as 1-4pm EDT. We’ll see how flexible that is – TGC moved the final round coverage of the SBS Open three weeks ago because of weather, maybe that will happen again.
As of 11am, Meaghan Francella’s lead at -8 from yesterday was still holding up. Seon Hwa Lee, who also finished yesterday, is two shots back along with Stacy Prammanasudh and Il Mi Chung, who still have a lot of holes to play. Right now the cut is at +2 with a reasonable chance of climbing to +3.
I’ll try to post a short recap of the second round with updated info around 2pm.
