Fields Open – 1st Round

Stacy Prammanasudh and rookie Angela Park share the first round lead at the Fields Open after rounds of 66. Se Ri Pak is one shot back while Kyeong Bae and rookie Meaghan Francella are two back.

Park completed most of her round before the winds really kicked up. During the TV coverage, winds were routinely surpassing 30 mph and Rosie Jones mentioned that was altering club selection by as much as three clubs. Which makes the rounds by Prammanasudh and Pak especially outstanding. Other scores:

Jeong Jang 69
Jee Young Lee 69
Pat Hurst 69
Karrie Webb 70
Song-Hee Kim 70
Lorena Ochoa 71
Meena Lee 71
Julieta Granada 71
Morgan Pressel 71
Cristie Kerr 71
Seon Hwa Lee 71
Mi Hyun Kim 71
Paula Creamer 72
Natalie Gulbis 72
Juli Inkster 73
Hee-Won Han 73
Sherri Steinhauer 74

On the 12th green, Cristie Kerr had a bit of an adventure. First she had trouble placing her ball in a stationary position. Then immediately after she placed her putter head behind the ball (but before she spread her feet for her normal stance), the ball started rolling down the slope. I kept thinking “You’d better get a ruling, Cristie”. After a few words with playing-partner Se Ri Pak, Cristie chose to play from where the ball had rolled and two-putted to make par. Evidently the officials disagreed with that decision because her scorecard shows a double-bogey five this morning. I guess Dottie Pepper will give us the lowdown during tonight’s coverage.
