Amanda Blumenherst, the All-American from Duke University, won her first U.S. Women's Amateur title 2&1 over Azahara Munoz on Sunday.
Blumenherst took the lead for the first time in the 36-hole final match when she parred 13 (match hole #31). A birdie at 16 by Amanda put Munoz dormie and when Munoz missed a short birdie try at 17, Blumenherst made a five-footer for par to end the match.
