Inbee Park and Pat Hurst posted 67s and share the first-round lead at the Longs Drugs Challenge. Seven players are tied for third two shots behind, including Lorena Ochoa, Se Ri Pak, Stacy Prammanasudh and defending champion Karrie Webb.
Park (who has mysteriously lost the dash in her first name in recent weeks) played bogeyless golf while Hurst overcame a double-bogey at 11 (her 2nd hole of the day) and finished the day with an eagle at number 9. Windy and cool conditions took their toll as only 19 players broke par Thursday while 24 exceeded 76. Other notable scores with the top 90 bubble players in bold:
69 Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, Lorie Kane, Diana D’Alessio
70 Johanna Head
71 Nicole Castrale, Kristy McPherson
72 Jill McGill, Angela Stanford, Christina Kim
73 Erica Blasberg, Katie Futcher, Brittany Lincicome, Seon Hwa Lee
73 Laura Diaz, Liselotte Neumann, Maria Hjorth, Soo Young Moon
74 Juli Inkster, Natalie Gulbis, Jeong Jang, Jee Young Lee
74 Cristie Kerr, Nancy Scranton, Song-Hee Kim

76 Morgan Pressel, Dina Ammaccapane, Minea Blomqvist
77 Paula Creamer, Ai Miyazato

Jimin Kang withdrew during the round due to illness while Shi Hyun Ahn did not start – which, as it turned out, allowed Dina Ammaccapane into the field to protect her #88 money list standing. Dina has some work to do on Friday to make the cut.
