MasterCard Classic update

Another day, another weather delay – lightning forced the players off the course again at 5:30 Sunday afternoon. Ironically it may be for the best – the last four groups never even got started, so all of the leaders will play 18 today (unless Mother Nature continues to interfere). Play was scheduled to resume at 10:30am EDT but I already see the scores changing on lpga.com so they went out early.

Meaghan Francella (who didn’t play a single shot on Sunday) is still leading by one over Stacy Prammanasudh, two over Seon Hwa Lee, and three over Annika Sorenstam, Becky Morgan and Karin Sjodin. I mentioned Paula Creamer missed the cut, but neglected to point out that this was only the second missed cut of her career. Lorie Kane, who was -1 through Round Two, and Julieta Granada (+12) failed to sign their scorecards and were disqualified. Julieta probably had a plane to catch. The lovely and talented Grace Park (+1) made the cut in her first event of the season.

If you recall, I made a New Year’s resolution to stop complaining about the lack of TV coverage. So I’m NOT complaining that TGC opted to not show ANY final round coverage after their 1-4pm window yesterday and to not show any action today. I’ve had plenty of “Annika is God” talk already, thank you.
