Little Big Sisters

A new feature on lpga.com is "The LPGA Insider", which appearantly takes the place of the departed "Online With Laura". The first installment of The Insider features the Tour's new Big Sister program, which pairs rookies with established players to help them make the transition to tour life. It's a good idea, especially for those rookie international players who are also making a cultural transition. Here are the pairings: http://www.lpga.com/content_1.aspx?pid=9904&mid=2

Of course I can't resist pointing out the irony of a couple of the pairings. Morgan Pressel, who turns 19 in May, is the Big Sister of Kristina Tucker. Tucker graduated from Duke in 2003, so I can reasonably assume that she is at least 25 years old. Also, Julieta Granada (who despite the fact that she looks 15 is actually 20) is the big sister of rookie Sophie Giquel. Sophie's website is entirely in French, so I had to paste the contents of her "Mon Histoire" page into a translator to find out that she is 25 years old.

"Hey Big Sis! Where can a girl grab a beer around here?"
