Corona Championship – 2nd Round

Silvia Cavalleri, Angela Park and Yu Ping Lin all share the lead at -9 at the Corona Championship. Sarah Lee is fourth at -8 with Pat Hurst, Julieta Granada and Teresa Lu tied for fifth at -7.

Sarah Lee carded a 28 on the front nine (her last nine holes) to tie a tour record for most shots under par over a single nine. At the turn, Sarah was even par for the tournament. Six birdies and an eagle later, she’s at -8 one shot out of the lead. Park and Lin each posted rounds of 65 (-8) to vault to the top. If she can continue this good work, Angela will have a stranglehold on the Rookie Of The Year race. First round leader Stacy Prammanasudh double-bogeyed 18 to leave herself where she started at -6, tied for eighth with Na On Min. Pre-tourney favorite Lorena Ochoa stumbled to a 74 (five bogeys), putting herself at -4 but still well positioned. One of my personal favorites, Erica Blasberg, is tied for tenth at -5. A late double-bogey un-did some of Giulia Sergas' good start, but she's tied for tenth at -5. Diana D’Alessio aced hole 13 with a 4-iron from 186 yards to help her get to -4.

After bouncing around at +1 or +2 most of the day, the cut rose to +4. Ai Miyazato (+2) and Nicole Castrale (+4) escaped but Jee Young Lee (+5) and Brittany Lang (+8) got axed. Lang’s 83 on Friday was low-lighted by three double-bogeys.
